RELAY VIDEO

KILLARNEY'S JOURNEY

Hawke's Bay everyday hero  Killarney's Jeff's has had her fair share of up's and down's in her Cancer journey.

She and her whanau have been through a roller coaster. She was told there was nothing they could do for an original diagnosis of rectal cancer.  After further tests it was revealed  she in fact had Ovarian cancer and it was treatable!

Killarney is back-she is on her journey towards wellness.  She aims to complete a cumulative total of 100kms spread over 5 week end's and culminating with the final 20kms at the HB USO Rdelay!

She will join the FRESH rides in Hawke's Bay with USO Bike Ride and hopes that you will come and ride with her too.

Of course the big ride at the relay on 22nd September is where we would love to have Killarney's friends and whanau come and join us to celebrate her road to recovery.

Along the way she will be fundraising for the Cancer Society HB as a reflection of the wonderful support she has received.  All funds raised will go to the cancer society.

Go here to Killarneys facebook page to find out more

  • Point out any hazards on the road to riders following behind
  • Avoid overlapping wheels “half wheeling”

FAQ:

Do I need to have the proper cycling bike or clothes? All riders are required by law to wear a safety approved helmet. Check that your bike for use is roadworthy.  If it hasn't been used recently it may prove to get a service from the local bike shop.  Wear clothing that is comfortable for you.  If it rains it may pay to have a light jacket.

I have work mates that want to make up a team, what do I need to do?   Awesome! Get the team leader/ co-ordinator to contact us by Email and we'll register you straight away.

I  want to ride but I don’t have a team?   No worries! Email us and we'll sort a team out for you.  We’ll make sure you’re buddied up with a team.  When you’re riding on the course your team mates will be your cheer leaders!
