Ride Safe. Ride Well.  Be Seen!

"We don't judge you....  We're here to support you"

"Doesn't matter what shape, doesn't matter what size, doesn't matter what kind of bike you've got, doesn't matter what kind of gears you've got, get on board"  JR

WEEK END BUNCH RIDES

Saturday rides are Whanau rides.

For most of these rides we ride as one whanau bunch for the course we have mapped out. We employ a Tuakana-Teina approach. Our lead riders buddy up and tautoko the beginners. The distance and elevation of the course is adjusted to the ability of the bunch.

It's not about the distance or the how fast you ride, this ride is about whanau and riding as one with a focus on our lead riders helping others.

Alternatively we may start together as one whanau for a 5-10km warm up.  After the warm up we then split into FRESH or KUPE groups to complete the set routes and end up at the same destination for coffee!

The rides empower and upskill riders with the skills to cycle safely and confidently in their environment of choice, eg Commutacating, Pathway riding, road cycling or events.  Rides are open to anyone with a bike and helmet-

Check our Facebook page for our regular weekly rides

FRESH bunch ride  is for the  beginner cyclist new to cycling and or bunch riding with a focus on developing skills, confidence and cycle safety.

FRESH generally ride flat 15-30km rides.  Skills learned and practiced here will serve all riders well in a range of different terrain and environments.

Each ride has a specific new skill that you practice and build on progressively over a period of time.

Tempo on the flats can range from 14-24kmph

TE KARERE is for the rider moving up from FRESH or returning after a break or looking to  further develop bunch riding skills and fitness over more challenging routes and at a more consistent tempo than FRESH.

This will help you to further adapt to riding in a bunch.  It can be used as a stepping stone to riding with stronger local group rides or to step up to racing at higher levels.

Tempo on the flats ranges from 25-28kmph
